Unmoved Mover brings together a puzzling array of sources to evoke the image of an enigmatic, hand-cranked machine of ambiguous purpose: the rumble of crusted rubber belts, the mesh and mash of gears, the repetition of an object diligently performing its esoteric function. Among the overt sounds of metal, such as the gnashing metronomic attack of the first piece or the intermittent scrapes of the third, are the flocks of strange hums rising out of the system, unfurling into evermore complex states as the machinery continues on its endless, precarious loop. Deeply tactile and mysterious.
